Imot
Imot, pronounced /im-OTT/, is an Old English word for “meeting”. The canton of Lightwood has imots approximately every second Saturday. Members of the greater barony come down and join us for various activities, including fighter practice, dancing, arts and sciences and general chat.
The venue for the next imot is GeCo, the Geeveston Community Centre, 9b School Road Geeveston. We start at 12pm and carry on until about 3. Everyone is welcome, member or not, and medieval garb is not required. It’s a good way to learn about the SCA without having to make a huge commitment. Call Eric on 6297-9599 for more information, or just come along.
