Saint Radbod’s Day

Apologies. Due to a lack of bookings by the deadline, the Saint Radbod’s Day event has been adjusted to make it more affordable for the Canton and those attending.  Instead of a war and catered feast, we’re having a pot-luck picnic, in medieval garb, and an afternoon of archery.  Come along anyhow and have fun for less!

The Canton of Lightwood presents its third birthday in the form of the the Saint Radbod’s Day Archery Picnic on Saturday 29 November 2014 at Surges Bay Hall and Oval, Esperance Coast Road, just south of Surges Bay township on the Huon Highway.

Admission to the day is $5 for adult and teenage members, free for 12 and under; please bring a dish to share.  A day membership insurance surcharge of $5 applies for all non-members, regardless of age.

The picnic begins at noon, and will be followed by target archery and perhaps a little shooting at men in armour.

As ever, entertainments include games, stories, singing and good company.  Lightwood remains a friendly, welcoming canton for everyone, kids and adults, newcomers and oldies, locals and wayfarers, occasional participants and regulars.  Come along and be reminded of the magic of the Current Middle Ages in the Huon Valley.
