Interstate Travellers
Make your way to Hobart. If you’re in a hurry, we recommend QANTAS or Virgin Australia; we do not recommend Tiger Airways, ever.
If you prefer a more relaxed voyage, the Spirit of Tasmania sets out from Melbourne to Devonport every evening; the drive from there to Hobart takes about half a day.
From Hobart
From Hobart, take the Southern Outlet and the Huon Highway (A6) to the Huon Valley. Once you’ve made it over the mighty hill at Vince’s Saddle, it’s a fairly straight drive through Grove, Huonville, Franklin, Castle Forbes Bay and Port Huon to Geeveston, around 50 minutes all up. Signposts will show you to Heritage Park.
The investiture and feast will be at Surges Bay, about a ten minute drive further along the Huon Highway past Geeveston. Turn left at the Esperance Coast Road, and it’s all of 700 metres up the hill on the right. All roads are paved and two-way, although there are some stretches where the scenery may distract you with its gorgeousness so drive safely.
